About Us

"The Bead Room" (as the home office was affectionately referred to) was opened in 2005. Starting as a hobby, I started teaching basic jewellery making techniques and sourcing beads from all over the world. It rapidly grew and the "room" was soon bursting at the seams. The Moorebank store was opened and everything moved over, which of course included me quitting my part-time admin job to pursue the dream of business-ownership.

Having always been doing some sort of craft as a child, everything from crochet and cross-stitch to paper-tole, my favourites now include beadwork with peyote, right angle weave, cabochons, silver work and love working with Swarovski Crystal which led us to becoming Swarovski Elements Dealers in 2009. Resin and glass fusing are also big parts of my craft time. Recently, after taking a Lampworking and ceramics classes at an Aussie Beading Retreat, I have also been making my own lampwork glass beads and ceramic pendants and selling jewellery made from them.

After 8 years, in June 2013, we closed our retail store front in Moorebank and trade online from our home garage studio, which has allowed us to reduce our prices and specialise in what I teach locally, which is seed beadwork and crystals, and as always, our fantastic range of findings. Beadwork and jewellery making lessons are run several times a week and all our wonderful customers are still welcome to visit us at the garage, by appointment. Please email me if you would like a copy of my class calender.

There are over 4000 products in our store, and growing as we update our inventory after moving. If there is anything specific you are after, please do not hesitate to ask! We guarantee our products and our service so please shop with confidence and know we will always do our best to correct any issues at all. We import from all the major international bead store suppliers and we are happy to quote you and order in specific products we may not yet stock.

We also appreciate feedback, so if you would like to share your experience with us, or if you have a picture you would like to show us, please email us :)

Thank you for supporting an Aussie family owned and run business!

Carina

2017 Update:

Most recently, I now only show limited categories of the range available as we are operating on a smaller scale and selling mostly in-studio to our local customers and class attendee's. You are most welcome to visit anytime by appointment to view and shop, and of course, happy to answer any enquiries regarding stock.
